I’m pretty sure Fantasy Football was invented for fake fans. Yes, there are a ton of people out there who have their favorite NFL team and also a great Fantasy roster. There are also just as many who don’t like real football at all, just the idea of picking a “dream team” and gambling with their friends. A true fan always THINKS about having the great players on their real life team, but accepts what they’ve got on the real roster and move on. I’d just like to say…. these fakers must be missing something in their real NFL lives.
Maybe it’s because I am from a town that has some serious fans. Baltimore lives, breathes, eats, and dreams about the Ravens. I know people who don’t answer the phone for days after a bad loss. The Ravens have real rivals, and incredible respect in the sports community.
Which brings me to my current place of residence: Miami. I’m convinced that this town is 99% bandwagon. You could see this is last weeks’ game against the Denver Broncos, when the whole stadium was cheering for Tim Tebow. I can assure you that no respectable Ravens fan would DARE cheer for another player on another team during the game.
The Dolphins are 0-6 right now for the season. With constantly rotating quarterbacks and a questionable outlook for Tony Sparano, it seems as though the bandwagon crew has officially quit for the duration. They are 30th in the league for points per game, and there is no sign of possible improvement on the horizon. It seems as though the whole city has officially moved on to the upcoming Heat season.
Dear City of Miami,
Please stop faking your fanmanship. It is offensive to the sport as a whole. You are embarrassing yourselves.
